BERSERK SURVIVOR is a free action game made by an indie developer who goes by the name renzk. This fan-made hack-and-slash adventure is based on the popular manga and anime series, Berserk. Players will get to play as the protagonist, Guts, as he fights against the never-ending onslaught of monsters from the underworld.
Joining the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Slash and Jump Force, BERSERK SURVIVOR is an anime-inspired game that lets fans see their favorite characters and offers a new way to experience the story. It features multiple game modes and various loadout options before heading out into battle.
Going berserk
Berserk is one of the greatest manga series ever made and has amassed a cult following from fans around the world. It's widely acclaimed for its dark supernatural themes, character development, and incredible world-building. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it also boasts over-the-top action and fantastical fight scenes. In comes BERSERK SURVIVOR, a fan-made game that aims to capture the thrilling experience of those battles.
In this game, you’ll experience playing eight Guts Variations from different story arcs. In Survival, battle against never-ending waves of the astral world invasion. Meanwhile, Challenge has you take on a series of challenges in exchange for coins. Combat revolves around normal attacks and four special attacks. There's also a Focus System that when filled, will let you trigger Beast Mode and transform your berserker armor.
Before every run, visit the in-game store to change your loadout. Unlock four weapons and six arm attachments for Guts, and five partners to aid you in battle. Choose from 12 perks like increased damage and health to increase your chances. All that being said, just remember that this is a fan-made game and it may not get updated regularly.
One for the fans
Simply put, BERSERK SURVIVOR is an amazing homage to one of the greatest manga series ever made. From the visuals to the combat and the various ways you can experience being Guts throughout the story, everything is impressively done and is worthy of the name. Suffice it to say, this gets an easy recommendation and if you're a fan, it's a must-play.
